Ima's Countdown 2
Sep 29, 2010
2 The main bags should be packed and ready to go. Get your lists and do what you can now. Accordian file handy. This is go time!
Ima Sez 9/28/10Sep 28, 2010Ima Sez: Let the Memories Begin! Disney has a new theme for the 2011 season. Pictures of family Disney vacations will be flashed up on Cinderella's castle and in the "It's a Small World" rides. Disney will be collecting photos for the shows and taking them as you get into the parks. There is also a new web site set up to collect this info:
Let the Memories Begin!
Ima's Countdown 3
Sep 28, 2010
3 If you want to take snacks for the airplane (we do) and the parks, this is a good time to make a list and get them. We like beef jerky, pre-packaged crackers, dried fruits and a favorite candy. Baggie them up and keep them with you for easy access.

Ima Sez: Take the time at Epcot to sit down with the "map and times guide" to plan. There are a lot of shows and some parades. Make sure you set the alarm clock on your phone.
Ima's Countdown 4
Sep 27, 2010
4 Tape your head together! I'm sure it is about to explode! Take a deep breath! Check your first-aid bag for all you might need. You can find out what may be in the air if you are sensitive to those things. We pack a little of everything just in case.
ima's Countdown 5
Sep 26, 2010
5 If you are going to get autographs or have character meals and it is your young child's first time, make sure they know that they don't talk. Disney cast members are good at reading how your child might react. Don't worry if they freak out, the characters don't mind, they are very patient.
Ima Sez 9/26/10Sep 26, 2010Ima Sez: During the Holidays Disney merchandising is in full swing. This is something new at Disneyland for sure:
POPCORN! Scroll down and check out the popcorn bucket. I hope WDW has them too ;>).

Ima Sez: Mickey will no longer come to your table at Chef Mickey's. He will pose for photos instead. You can buy a photo or it has been reported you can get someone to use your camera and take a photo (nice save). Personally, I liked that Mickey came to the table. Everyone else will still come to your table during the meal.
Ima's Countdown 6
Sep 25, 2010
6 Make a list of all the things that you need to do to make your home safe while you are away. We unplug computers, coffee pots, hair dryers, ect. Turning off water to washer or hot water heater can save a headache. Food and water for pets and plants is good to have done. If you are like Ima, you will be leaving at 4:30 am and a list is very nice.
Ima's Countdown 7Sep 24, 20107 You can get a seven day forecast for Disney. Here is a good web site for that:
Orlando Weather. Mr. Mowse says this is a good time to check the weather because the forcast should not change much from this point.

Ima Sez: When you are on the airplane and have taken off and your child says "I'm bored!", you calmly reach under the seat in front of you for the game and treat bag. Success! This is a great way to keep stress at a minimum. Just don't put it in the overhead when you get on the plane.
Ima Sez 9/23/10
Sep 23, 2010
Ima Sez: When packing for a trip Ima has a tecnology bag. Inside you will find all cords for all items needing them, like phones, cameras, computers, and games. This is also a good place to put your extra batteries. Make a list and check it before you leave for home. It does help to make sure all items get home.
Ima's Countdown 8
Sep 23, 2010
8 Check your travel accordian file. Make sure you have all your reservation #'s, package reservation, special event tickets, and airline information. All telephone numbers you might think you will need for Disney and home. Put this in your suitcase just so you know where it is you do not want to panic before you leave. It is easier to panic early.

Ima Sez: Ima loves to pack and has found some very useful ideas that she has developed and adopted. Using gallon size bags to pack under things for each member of the family is very handy. You can also put socks in one as well as swimsuits after sitting on it (AAAAAAAAA!...Fonze! ) then zip it! You will be suprised how thin it becomes. Then you can use the bags to return dirty items. Neat!!
